  • Study of genetic variability and heritability of yield and quality traits.
  • Breeding methods, selection in early generations, and development of improved genotypes.
  • Genotype × environment interaction, adaptability, and stability of yield and quality traits.
  • Multi-environment evaluation and application of statistical methods for the selection of stable and high-yielding genotypes.
  • Application of molecular markers in the genetic evaluation and breeding of plants.

Profile


Dr. Vasileios Greveniotis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agriculture at the University of Patras.

He holds degrees in Agricultural Technology and Agricultural Sciences, an MSc in Plant Genetics and Breeding, Agronomy and Weed Science, and a PhD in Plant Genetics and Breeding.

He has extensive research experience in Plant Genetics and Breeding, with particular emphasis on the Genetic Improvement of Forage Crops, gained as a researcher at the Hellenic Agricultural Organization– DIMITRA (ELGO-DIMITRA), Institute of Industrial and Forage Crops.

His research focuses on plant genetics and breeding, the evaluation and selection of genetic material and genotypes, and the study of yield, quality, and stability in crop plants.

He has participated in national and European research projects and research activities and has published research articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as contributions to national and international scientific conferences.
