Profile
Dr. Ioannis Karavidas is Assistant Professor of Vegetable Crop Science at the Department of Agriculture, University of Patras, with a strong academic and research background in the science of vegetable crops.
He is a graduate of Agricultural University of Athens, where he also completed his PhD in Vegetable Crop Science, with emphasis on sustainable cultivation practices, plant nutrition, and crop productivity.
His research interests focus on hydroponics and soilless cultivation systems, water and nutrient use efficiency, improvement of the quality and nutritional value of vegetable products, as well as plant responses to abiotic stress conditions.
He has actively participated in the implementation of European research projects (Horizon 2020, PRIMA), national funded projects (HFRI), and privately funded research projects. His publication record includes more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals indexed in Journal Citation Reports, as well as numerous full papers and conference presentations in national and international scientific conferences.
