The “Floriculture – Landscape Architecture Laboratory” combines research with practical application, in two scientific fields, creating sustainable and beautiful green spaces that serve people and the environment. In Floriculture, it focuses on the study and utilization of ornamental plants, enhancing biodiversity and production, while in Landscape Architecture, it utilizes modern tools for the design of outdoor spaces that respond to environmental and social needs. As a center of excellence, it meets teaching and research requirements, serving sustainability and quality of life.
Research topics & activities
Growth, propagation, production and maintenance of floricultural plants, horticultural plants and ground cover plants with the application of innovative techniques.
Cultivation – Propagation and Development of Plants under Controlled Conditions
Study of growth and development conditions under different microclimatic and soil environments.
Drafting and preparation of studies for urban green spaces, parks, gardens, peri-urban landscapes, green roofs and restoration of degraded areas
Research into the possibility of utilizing native species as plant materials, with emphasis on the sustainable use of natural resources
