The Horticulture Laboratory serves the laboratory training of students in the following courses:
-
AGRI_405 – General Horticulture,
-
AGRI_703 – Special Horticulture,
-
AGRI_701 – Postharvest Physiology and Technology
-

It has laboratory benches with 22 seats for the comfortable exercise of students and a separate office space.
Research Interests
The laboratory carries out research programs on the improvement of vegetables, especially squash .
In recent years, great emphasis has been placed on the creation of squash hybrids with tolerance to viruses.

The Vegetable Growing Laboratory participates in many research projects (Intereg 2014-2020, RIS3 Agrifood, Research Create Innovate), has the Scientific responsibility of the RIS3 project with the acronym SQUASHYDR and is the coordinator of the project “Utilization of created squash hybrids with disease tolerance for organic production” (Act Code M16SYN2-00422 & ΦΚ: 82531).
