The Lab Pomology studies the adaptation of fruit trees to stress conditions with physiological (photosynthesis, chlorophyll, management of water use in plants, etc.), morphological and chemical indicators.
He is specialized in the mechanisms of growth and production of fruit trees in various cultivation systems, in the propagation of trees, in the evaluation and promotion of local species.
Research interests
The main research objects of the laboratory are focused on the following areas:
- Mechanisms of growth and production of fruit trees in different cropping systems
- Growth physiology of fruit trees
- Mechanisms of resistance to stress conditions
- Nutrition-Fertilization of Fruit Trees
- Propagation of fruit trees
- Evaluation and promotion of local species
- Evaluation of new varieties
- Fruit development – Fruit quality characteristics
- Sustainable management of orchards
- Circular economy in pomology
