Research Activity

Specifically, the Laboratory deals with the following subjects:

  •  Study of nanostructured organic and inorganic polymers and their use as carriers of biologically active substances as well as in the characterization and purification of water.
  • Preparation of nanostructured materials from organized molecular systems by chemical methods and their deposition in the form of thin films on various substrates.
  • Fluorescent Probing Methods for the Study of Polarity, Structure and Dynamics of Physical, Biological, Aqueous and Biochemical Systems as well as Materials.
  • Study of pollutants (organic load, metal ions) in water systems with spectrophotometric and chromatographic techniques (ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrophotometry, emission spectrophotometry, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, gas, liquid and ion chromatography).
  • Determination of total carbon (TC) and total nitrogen (TN) in water and sediments.
  • Novel materials as sources of light radiation – Ions and rare earth complexes as sources of light radiation to prepare new materials for diagnostic tools and trace environmental systems.
