The “Plant Protection” laboratory is active in scientific fields concerning the enemies and diseases of plants, as well as their treatment methods.

His educational activity concerns the teaching of the subjects of Agricultural Zoology, Nematology, Entomology and Phytopathology.

It is one of the three research laboratories in Greece that specializes in nematodes worms.

Research interests

His research activity focuses on the academic subjects:

  • phytoparasitic nematodes that cause serious plant diseases (soil and plant material analyses, systematic classification, biological and integrated management, evaluation of nematicides), and

entomopathogenic nematodes that are a powerful tool in the biological management of insects (entomopathogenic nematodes – host insect interactions, entomopathogenic nematodes – phytoparasitic nematodes interactions, dispersal studies and entomological protection of urban and peri-urban greenery).
